CHECK on material description field

Hi Experts,

We need to develop some checks(validation) on material description field but we are not able to find the field that contains material description

description in BRF+.

Please help urgently

Hi Vaibhav,

The Text table for material master is table MAKT.
Field MAKT-MAKTX contains the material description and can be read based on MATNR & SPRAS.

You need to have this field in your BRF+ design so that data can be fetched and used.

If you are looking for something else then post more details about your requirement and how BRF+ is used in your scenario.

I am taking about SAP MDG-M solution. I cannot find MAKTX field in the data model.

Material text will be stored in field TXTMI in generated text table. Please check.

I can find TXTMI in data model but it is not available in BRF+ structure of mm data model.

Is there any BADI I have to use to make rule on material description field?

Hi Vaibhav,

Please use BADI USMD_RULE_SERVICE or USMD_RULE_SERVICE_CROSS_ET instead of BRF+ for doing the validations on Description.
