Hello Guys!
i have a question regarding workmode propagation on host level.
If a schedule a planned downtime on host level, would it be possible to propagate this workmode to all technical systems and database running under this host ?
Would be very useful for os patch days etc.
Best regards,
Dominik Kastner
Hi Dominik,
I don;t think it is possible. I tried creating a work mode for the host and it propagated only to the instances, not the system and DB.
What I can suggest is for you to create a work mode scenario for the host, which would include all the systems and DBs in the host. That way, when you have a planned downtime for the host, put a work mode on the scenario you made.

Jing

Hello Dominik,
Some more information that may be helpful:
Work Mode scheduled on Technical System is inherited by the underlying Technical Instances. However, they are not inherited by host and database .
For host and database a separate work mode needs to be scheduled. Work Mode scheduled on Host is inherited by the underlying Technical Instances.
Work Mode scheduled on Database is not inherited by any other component.
Information on Work mode settings made during the System Monitoring setup
