Hello,
We recently implemented the Fiori "PO Approval" app and the users were happy with the results.
We just finished implementing the "MyInbox" app and we can see the PO approvals in the MyInbox app but we cannot see any PO Data or line item data or any the texts. Also we don't see the "Approve", "Reject" options as we see in the "PO Approval" app.
The same is true for other custom WF's.
My question to you all is can MyInbox app replace PO Approval app and if so what settings am I missing that I cannot see the PO data ?
Or we do we need to keep the PO Approval app in addition to the MyInbox app and that would defeat the purpose for MyInbox app.
Appreciate your response, comments.
Thanks,
Manoj
Yes, yes, yes it can.
But you will need to use the Extensibility options to add a Task specific pane for PO approval.
We've already done this in a similar way for Shopping Cart Approval (where we borrowed ideas/code from the standard Approve shopping carts app), and Financial Journals - where we had to do everything from scratch.

Manoj,
If you cant see approve , reject option in my inbox. I hope you have maintained configuration in "Maintain task name and decision option" and configure the task and workflow template with decision keys
0001 for approve
0002 for reject
I can also suggest one good idea of keeping the my inbox intact with "all items" say po approval, pr etc. And create an app to app navigation from my inbox-po items to approve PO app (you can add a link to po approval app in "open task") , so that the user can see all the details he wants. and approve/reject at his own ease.

Tejas

Hi Manoj,
The same question I asked me once while I was asked to mobilize the purchase order appovation workflow.
I think you have already give half of the answer to the question.
My Inbox app is different from the Approve Purchase Order app, or other specific approvation app.
Why? As you already mentioned, the Approve purchase order app is designed using specific odata services that brings more data related with the "Purchase Order" that is going to be approved, than the general data that is brought by the My Inbox app for the same "Purchase Order".
But there is also another difference.
The Approve Purchase Order app is designed to be used out of the box just for the standard "Approve purchase Order" workflow, of for a custom that executes a similar method in the approval step.
In case the approval step is very different from the standard one, you should customize the standard application, or choose using a general application for workflows as "My Inbox".
The lsat and obvious difference, is that the My Inbox app is a general app, that can be used with any workflow, rather than the Approve Purchas order app that can be used just with the Approve Purchase order approbation workflow.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Emanuel
