Hi,

I want to upgrade Support Package via SUM. When the step Specify Credential I got error that username or password is incorrect. Whereas I input a correct password. I used <SID>ADM and the password within os level user.

I have been check note   927637 and try to applied service/protectedwebmethods = DEFAULT  in profile parameter within SAP System but still error.

Here attached my screenshot.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rizaldy,

Above issue is due to lack of read permission of password storage file on operating system level may cause the failure of <sid>adm user authentication by sapstartsrv.

Ref the note 1563660 - sapcontrol, user authorization issues (SUM) for better understanding.

Hope it helps you.

Regards

Hello Rizaldy,

SUM tool always need to be run with sid<adm> user. I dont understand how did you manage to run tool with own user ID !!!

SUM folder needs to be extracted in \usr\sap\<SID>

I am happy    that you are able to run SUM tool
