Install Web Dispatcher on Gateway Server

As we are delving into Fiori we find that we need SAP Web Dispatcher.  Can I just add this to my gateway server?  The gateway server is already externally facing so a lot of the work seems to have already been done.

Hello Mary,

As long as the server were SAP is running have enough resources (mainly memory and CPU power), there is no problem to install the SAP Web Dispatcher at the same server as the Gateway system.

SAP Web Dispathcer is a standalone server. It is not a must but it would be better.

As you can see in the 12th page of the SAP Fiori – Architecture overview presentation you can directly access to the Fiori via SAP NW gateway.

Or if you want you can install a Web Dispatcher on the same host with Fiori system. Or on a different server.

It is up to your strategy and architecture choise.
