what are the steps need to be follow for updating from SP08 TO SP10 (HANA Studio)

Hi Guys,

I am working as a HANA modeler, our project is going to plan HANA studio updation from SP08 to SP10.

Can anyone give the important things need to be considered before and after migration.

apart from testing what are the steps need to make sure and what are the steps need to follow in modelling perspective

I have gone through different threads regarding this but most of them on BW HANA migration topics.

SAP HANA Database Maintenance Revision 102.05 of SAP HANA platform software Support Package Stack (SPS) 10 is now available externally for media download on SAP Service Marketplace. Please check SAP Note 2275609 for fixes included in this revision.

If you upgrade from a lower SAP HANA SPS it is recommended to update ALL other components (Studio, Modeler, DB Clients, DBSL, SLT, DS, ...) to at least the minimal version of SAP HANA SPS 10.

Please check also the SAP HANA Platform SPS 10 Release Note 2165826. Please check the section “Important Information When Updating to SAP HANA Platform SPS10”.

Dear Kohli,

First of all you have to consult with a Basis or HANA administrator for HANA upgrade.

The points are different according to your landscape. Whether you are using HANA as a sidecar or as a primery database.

Your admin will upgrade the HANA database from SP08 to SP10. Later he will provide you the SAP HANA SP10 studio version. You or your infra team will upgrade your HANA studio in your laptop with the latest version.

Before upgrade you have to gone through the SAPHANA SP10 sapnote to check what are the new feature in it & have to check whether you have to taken care of any views, projects etc. Anyhow Basis will take a backup before upgrading the HANA.
