Meanwhile there exist OSS note 2298382 Requesting L-Code from SAP

This explains how to deal officially woth L-Code requirements

For simple cumulation calculation, check OSS note 2288329 - SAP Integrated Business Planning Advanced Configuration - Time as a Dimension (Year-To-Date and Quarter-To-Date Aggregations). It contains a how-to on configuration and has some pdf attached for further help

For cumulation requirements, you can configure without LCode.

Just for calculations such as projected stock (in the old releases where no heuristic operator was used, e.g. in the Control Tower planning area) where you need to move over some remaining quatities from one period to the next as input for the next periods calculation you ned LCode

In that case, you need to make a mockup in Excel that includes Business Case and the formula you would use and raise an OSS ticket for SAP and ask for assistance

Hi Arora,

L-script is internal to SAP and there is no document available to share. We are not supposed to use it, unless authorized by product development. Usually it can be avoided with configuration. Please share the use case with us.

Hi Alecsandra,

With the use case, you mean the KF calculation ? where L- Script is used.

The KF it is used for Consensus MAPE.

Thanks,

Use case like the example provided by Irmi. Your customer's specific requirement which you consider not achievable via standard configuration. So that we can evaluate and see if and how Lcode could be avoided.

Cheers

For MAPE you dont need LCode. You can have attribute transformation to bring depending on your detailed requirement the values to the respecitive month. But you dont have anything where you need the result from one period just calculated in the next period

In the newer planing areas you will not find any LCode on MAPE

HI Alecsandra & Irmhild,

Thanks for your responses.

The configuration is already been done by some SAP experts and now we are having few issues with the Keyfigure(having L script in Calculations) to understand them i need to know the syntax and how the Lscript works.

And it will be difficult for me to provide the "customer's specific requirement".

well, that does not change the fact that there is no official documentation available at LCode, and that you will need to raise an OSS if you need help, sorry

What I suggest you should include is

- as attachment, the text of the code in a readable format

- a mockup with formulas so that SAP dev team can easily understand the requirement

No requirement - no confifguration I would guess
