Hello All,

We are currently using a custom account for SAP_PROXY_ESR. Is there a standard SAP account provided for this purpose ?

Thanks,

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

I think the normal account would be PIREP<SID>.  We are also using a custom account but that is because the passwords were not recorded for the standard accounts.  We didn't want to cause any issues by trying to reset passwords on the standard accounts during our latest migration.

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for the reply.

We have ECC , BW , HR , CRM calling PI. Each has the same RFC destination. Are you guys using the same PI account across all SAP_PROXY_ESR or different for everyone.

The problem with using the same account is that if it gets locked. It brings down everything.

Also do these custom accounts get locked after 3 retires ?

Thanks,

Kiran

Hi Kiran,

Yes, we are using the same account from all of our SAP systems and the normal accounts provided (and the ones we created) are technical accounts in Java stack so I don't think the accounts will lock after 3 failed attempts - not sure about ABAP as we are running single stack Java.

Hi Kiran,

The user must have the role SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER if you create the custom user for each system Connecting the ABAP Backend to Advanced Adapter Engine - Configuring Process Integration (PI) After ...

The esr_user user must be assigned the role SAP_XI_IR_SERV_USER

The users will be locked after 3 attempts even technical or normal users.

Praveen.
