Error Accessing ESR on PO 740

Hi,

We have a new SAP PO 740 system built (Standalone Java), post steps completed.

When accessing ESR, we receive an error 'Cannot Connect to Server using Message Server', 'internal error during authentication'.

I found a few SCN threads with similar issues, but nothing seems to be valid in our case!

Can anyone help me troubleshoot/resolve this error?

Thanks for the replies Konrad and Vikas!

The error wasn't really specific, and after detailed discussions and brain-storming, the issue got resolved.

The message server port (8101 in our case) checks and forwards the requests to the P4 port as i understand, which is (P4 port) 50004 (default). Since the error only talks about MS port wasn't able to figure where the problem was. Issue was that the P4 port, 50004, was blocked on the server's Windows Firewall, unblocking it did the trick!

Hi Nagaraju,

Ask your basis if this is a distributed installation (msg server and app server on different ips).

In the above case you need to maintain 2 ip addresses in the host file.

please share your tried (and unsuccessful) solutions. P4 errors can occur for different reasons.
