MDGF - Can we use ALE and SOA both?

Hi,

We have implemented MDG-F with for GL and Cost Centers using ALE method.

Now, we want to implement Cost Center Hierarchy as well.

Is it ideal to use SOA for Cost Center Hierarchy at this stage when already ALE is in place for other objects as stated above?

Another question: if we decide to use ALE for Cost Center Hierarchy, then is it true that we will always have to upload the whole Hierarchy even if one node needs to be added to an existing hierarchy? I have read a lot of posts on this forum about issues with using ALE for Cost Center Hierarchy - so I wish to understand the cons here.

I think this is the best idea. Normally for stand-alone master data object, ALE is suitable and for hierarchy SOA is suitable as it update delta changes.

IDOC will delete the entire hierarchy in target system hence you need to make sure that your hierarchy is always 100% same. SOA will push delta changes only hence it is always useful to use SOA.

Use IDOC for GL and SOA for hierarchy. This is the best option for MDG-F.
