MDG vs MDM regarding Central Finance

Hi Gurus,

I`m a little bit confused regarding MDG and MDM, how much difference between them? Especially when SAP talks about Central Finance, MDG has been mentioned as the master data mapping and distributing tool, but can we use replace it with MDM in Central Finance deployment scenario?

Hi Tommy,

You don't have to implement MDG to work with Central Finance.

Out of the box, SAP Central Finance leverages part of MDG capabilities (in details MDG Key and Value mapping) for mapping of objects IDs and codes. That's all.

Of course MDG can work in conjunction with cFin but it's a different scenario.
