I would request you to provide hints/notes to perform this migration.

our current setup is as below.

we have Trex engine running on four hosts in a distributed model.

host1 Master server where indexing and name server is running

host2 Backup server backup for primary server

host3 & host4 are slave servers where pre processing and searching will be taken care

current version is Trex is 7.10.49

Hi Rajesh.

1.  Before migration on existing Trex system upgrade the SP level from 49 to 60 & above.

2. You can install the Trex Search engine on Windows 2012 server with VM.

3. Refer the SAP KBA  2094094 - Procedure to upgrade TREX HOST

Hi Rajesh, in the case of migration from one Windows landscape to an other , the most simple procedure is the following: 1) as first you need to install and setup the new landscape (dependent on the SAP Application you use you probably need to establish one or an other connection between the TREX and application , e.g. http, icm, rfc). Dependent on the application you probably need to take into account some special restrictions , or do the necessary changes in the configuration . 2) Stop the indexing activity (e.g. RTI jobs ) 3) export the indexes (with queues if these used in your scenario) on the old landscape 4) import the indexes (and queues if necessary) in the new landscape 5) switch the application to use the new landscape and reactivate indexing jobs. Best regards, Mikhail

Dear Rajesh,

Follow the below steps.

1. Take the export of the indexes and queues from the current server.

2. Install the TREX on the new server similar to current environment

3. Import the indexes into the new system

4. Perform the connection management
