Hi Dude's

There is a business requirement, delivery line item split should happen based on Alternative unit of measure parameter which is available in material master additional tab. Please post your comments if you have any idea about the scenario.

May be Lakshmipathi have some inputs on this requirement.

Business reason could be, they wanted to print one TO form per SKU. By splitting the Delivery Line items based on SKU quantity which in turn create TO Line Items similarly.

Please explain in details:

  • what is the business process (AS-IS);
  • what is the business requirement (TO-BE);
  • what you have tried so far to achieve that, what design options you have explored;
  • which is the step that is posing a challenge,

so that you can receive high quality suggestions from the forum members.

Hi Veselina

Good day!

Thanks for your reply

  1. The Business requirement is to split the outbound delivery line
items by referring sales order line item quantity based on material handling
unit splitage quantity (Alternative unit of measure) which is available in
    additional tab
    àunit
of measure in material master record.

  1. Currently, There is no split in delivery line items happening
based on material handling unit splitage quantity even it is customized at
    material master level (Additional tab
    àunit
    of measure).

Existing
Logic :

For example, Sales order 2xxxxx created for the line item 20,
material
2xxxx5 with quantity as 50.

  1. Though there is an entry at handling unit splitage quantity
    (Alternative unit of measure)
    as ES4 àPackingà24 for the
above mentioned material, It is creating delivery as a single line item for the
entire quantity 50 of the material
    2xxxx5.

  1. There is no creation of
multiple delivery line items based on
    handling unit
splitage quantity (Alternative unit of measure)
as ES4 àPackingà24 for the respective material by referring the sales
    order material line item qty.

Expected
Logic :

  1. The material 2xxxx5
    was updated with
handling unit splitage quantity (Alternative unit of measure) as ES4 àPackingà24

For example, Sales order 2xxxxx created for the line item 20,
material
2xxxx5 with quantity as 50.

Once the delivery is processed,
For the material
2xxxx5, as per handling unit splitage parameter
entry in material master now Delivery no. 5xxxxxx has got created with 3 line
items for the same material
2xxxx5
and the respective delivery line items having updated with corresponding sales
order number 2xxxxx and sales order item number 20 at each delivery item level
as like below

Hello,

now I understand what the customer requires, but why they would need that?

I see no clear business benefit from splitting an order item into multiples in the same outbound delivery. Did the client explain the reason behind?

I can understand splitting an order item into several outbound deliveries, but not in the same delivery.

Are you trying to connect to some external WMS system that cannot work well with partial pallets or with multiple full pallets for the same item?

It is not that what you ask is absolutely impossible with a custom development, but it is still hard to justify that.
