AC-CUP Set one initial password for multiple user via Acess Request

Dear All,

currently we prepare  90 SAP user account for a Go-live in a Backend System.

All user need to have the same initial password in the backend system.

User will not log on in the backend system. They will use their account via an additional app.

The app offers 12 digits for a password only.

We want to create an Access Request "Change account", to add one initial password for multiple users, but tab " User System details" is not active in this case.

An mass change via transaction SU10 is not possible because the initial pw has more then 12 digits.

(Every user would have an own pw in this case, but this is something we can handle)

Does anyone have a solution for this topic.

We are on GRC 10.0 SP15

Hi Melanie

Artem has already mentioned the PRGN_CUST configuration which is used for PSS, Generate Password in SU01 and SU10

Your requirement sounds a little concerning to want to give users initial passwords to the back-end that is the same. Aren't you at risk of a security violation or risk?

There's a reason why SAP never developed the functionality to mass reset users to have the same password.

Also, if front end has a 12 password limit it sounds like it might have less password strength/protection which is also a risk.

Can the software configuration be done as SSO instead so you don't need to issue SAP passwords? Instead, the back end password is deactivated?

Hi Melanie,

As I've understood the main problem is in the length of an initial password rather than send them one common password. If so, you can restrict the the length of generated passwords by using view PRGN_CUST. Ask your basis guys to configure this view according to your requirements in the go-live system.
