SAP MDG Deployment Option : Customized

Hello Experts,

We have a client where we have to implement SAP MDG as pilot for one country and then there will be multi country roll outs. There is only one SAP ECC operational system in landscape along with Two instances at different geographical location.

Our Approach: One SAP Server with two clients in it and both these clients have two different SAP MDG instances which will talk to different ECC instances via ALE mechanism. So it both of them will have country or roll out specific configs such as TAX terms etc.

In a way it would be combination of HUB & Co Deployment approach.

Does this looks feasible ?

Many Thanks in advance !!

Regards,

Deep

Hello Deep

I would suggest to use HUB option here. Deploy MDG as hub and then you can connect with any SAP or non-SAP system. Figure out the configuration in both instances specially for master data.

You can use SMT mapping to connect to different systems. This option would be useful in future as well when your client may drop multiple instances and come up with single instance.

Thanks Kiran for your response !

Correct so considering when clients wants to drop even one MDG instance, Our suggested approach would be proven, moreover this also looks robust to in corporate considering SAP MDG roadmap with IoT, Hybris etc. and consolidation feature can also be achieved centrally using this.

May be too many assumptions , But hopefully our suggested approach looks feasible as well, correct?

Also accordingly since it will one server with two MDG instances, DB need to be break up with respect to two different instances? Not sure sharing DB capability would be how much feasible.

Also regarding consolidation it would help in meaningful way as all data will flow in one server only where we can manage it centrally?

Could you help here to understand this.

Hello Deepak

On DB part I am not sure. You can check with your basis team. But from consolidation point of view, if you deploy MDG as hub it will be beneficial. You can connect MDG Hub with all the instances across landscape. In future if your client implement ARIBA or any other new dimensional tool, then MDG HUB option would be useful.
