Stock in transit reversal- DWM

Hi All,

We use Decentralized Warehouse Management.

In an Inter-company STO process, say Plant 1 to Plant 2

Plant 1 shipped 10 Qty

Plant 2 saw only 8 Qty on truck and hence they received only 8 qty.

Now the remaining 2 Qty is in transit.

Requirement is to receive 2 Qty back in Plant 1 in order to make Stock in transit as Zero and both plants are in sync.

How can we handle this scenario keeping in mind the decentralized warehouse?

Thanks,

Kiran

Since DWM does not support goods issue reversals the best option it to proceed with the GR for full in-transit amount and if the value is low scrap it at the destination (considering it's inter-company STO scenario) if the value is high a subsequent virtual STO can be created to return the missing stock balance to the sending plant to be adjusted out of the system there (virtual STO are often not allowed due to import/export tax regulations and so on) if a return STO to virtually return the missing stock is not possible then scrapping the in-transit stock after GR and then manual FIN postings can happen to offset large value discrepancies.

Now.. it is possible through customization (development of background job(s)) to systematically clean up the in-transit inventory with subsequent postings after the goods receipt is posted and the inbound delivery is complete but not through standard.

The requirement as stated "to receive 2 Qty back in Plant 1" cannot be met without the complete goods receipt and virtual return STO (the destination plant of in-transit stock cannot be changed in standard)

Since there is no partial cancellation of a goods issue from a delivery you only have limited options, like complete cancellation and redo the goods issue with correct information or receiving it completely and returning 2 with a return order.
