Error while installing SAP HANA SPS11 (Revision 110) on RHEL 6.6

Dear All,

While installing HANA SPS11 revision 110 on RHEL 6.6 (VM WARE) below error has been encountered.

ERR : Cannot create Instance

ERR : error installing

ERR : Installation failed

INFO: Summary of critical errors

ERR :  error installing

ERR :  Cannot create Instance

ERR :  Cannot create instance

ERR :  Cannot create SecureStore

INFO:  Command line is: /usr/sap/SID/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil -createSecureStore

can you please help in this.

Hi All,

Issue has been resolved by updating glibc-2.12-1.149.el6_6.4 and nss-softokn-freebl 3.14.3-19.el6_6 to latest versions.

SAP Note, 2136965 - SAP HANA DB: Recommended OS settings for RHEL 6.6, has this information. Other OS settings should be checked on the system that are in this note as well.

Can you please manually run this command ? and send me the output? /usr/sap/NDB/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil -createSecureStore

I would suggest you to download DVD to local if you have mounted it.  When you unpacked SAR file, did you use -xvf option?

Basically, it is a permission issue rather than HLM issue. If you have sys admin, please consult with him.

You should be able to run this "/usr/sap/NDB/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil -createSecureStore" without errors. Please find the libhdbpythonbase.so and check the permission.

Hi Michael,

I gone through the Snote 1897157 and given permissions to /var/tmp as per note.

And when i manually run the command /usr/sap/SID/HDB00/exe/hdbnsutil -createSecureStore with <SID>adm it failes with message ABORTED.

I have generated strace.out file for hdbnsutil and below is the message in trace file.

--- SIGABRT (Aborted) @ 0 (0) ---

+++ killed by SIGABRT +++

Permissions for libhdbpythonbase.so is 777 sapsys:sidadm and located in /hana/shared/SID/exe/linuxx86_64/HDB_1.00.110.00.1447753075_2513507

Still issue not resolved.

Hi Chaitanya,

To me it looks more of an permission issue with installation directory. Can you try changing the permission of /var/tmp/ to 777 and re-run your installation? Let me know if that helps.

Hi Chaitanya,

Are you using same SID/ UID / GID as before. Please refer to following directories and check the permissions, if any files is owned by same SIDADM but other UID,or any .lck files.

/var/tmp

/var/lib/hdb/SID

Also go through the log files under /var/tmp for detailed explanation of the issue.
