MDG C - Requester role having different UIs for different CR types

Hi ,

We have requirement to have the different UI per Change customer CR TYPE.

1. After selecting the customer on 'Search Customer' results, it displays standard out-of-box UI with all UIBBs.

2. Then User select general data and click on Edit button and a pop-up displays with all Change CR tyeps ( assume that all CR types are attached to different UIs at CR steps ) and select CR types.

3. User should able to see different UI screen other than the below the pop-up UI screen .

Is this can be achieved in MDG?.

Example :

  1. Search results screen  shows around UI with 15 UIBB’s after clicking on customer record
  2. Change CR1 have only 10 UIBBS
  3. Change CR2 have only 5 UIBBS
  4. User should see the change UI screen based on the Change CR selected; either UI with 10 UIBB’s or 5 UIBB’s.
  5. Currently its showing all 15 UIBB's; for any CR types are selected( CR1 or CR2 )


Tried different ways but it did not worked. Every time, its showing the out-of-box UI only for any CR type processing.

1. Created CBA per change request type - Not working

2. Attached different UIs at Change request step config - Not Working

Hi Kiran,

Solved the issue with creating the seperate UI config for each scenario and configured the UI navigation step-up. This way the our requirement is fulfilled.

Which role you are using? Please check the proper CR Types are assigned in the role.

Rest all seems to be fine.

Thanks for the reply Kiran. Customized the role SAP_MDGC_REQ_04 and given all CR type  access. Not sure what is the issue.

Hello Rajiv

In the configure properties of Change request setup, select your CR type and click on User interface per Change request. Here you have to specify the UI application for each step. Give the UI application name (normally its std - BS_OVP_BP) and in configuration ID give your Z UIBB name. Don't give any value if you don't want custom UIBB for other steps.

Check this and let me know if its in place.

Hi Kiran,

Tested this approach and it did not worked. The UI is only effective, if I re-open the CR provided if you saved the change CR not submit.

Hello Rajiv

Instead of creating different UIBB's why can't you use adaption? Hide the tabs or fields not relevant for that role.

Hi Kiran,

Tried CBA approach as well and the result is same as above, means with different custome UIs per change request step config.

Any other approaches, you think we missed, please let us know. I know how to configure this if its not requester role like Data specialist or Steward level.

Try and use the standard MENU04 role. Modify the role for requestor / data specialist and steward and then see if it works.
