Issue with netbackup backup

Hi All,

We are trying to perform backint configuration to netbackup.

Whenever i try to trigger the backup i get the below error.

backup could not be completed: Backint missing software version tag

I am not really sure as to what else should i be adding.

"backup data using backint ( 'XYZ' )" this is our hdbsql command line.

Any pointers please.

Hi,

We have seen similar errors (backing missing software version tag) on our HANA backups using BACKINT tool DDboost from EMC

The error occurs mainly when the lockbox for the authentication is not configured correctly for DDboost

We contact the team that configure the DDboost backup on HANA system and it is corrected by them

Finally the issue got fixed.

We had some issues on netbackup side and also on the policy of the netbackup once that got corrected we were able to proceed.

Also remember to use the name as init<SID>.utl and not initSAP.utl.

I would contact your backint vendor in relation to this. This error is not related to HANA so your vendor can help further

HANA is not able to parse the message sending from netbackup api.

Before contacting netbackup team wanted to check everything is correct from HANA end or not.

I think it makes sense to do the check the other way around for this situation because of the error you are seeing. First check from backint, if they say everything is correct from Backint side you can then look at HANA

One question, they did check and checked some stuff.

I see only 4 files being started for backup, how can change the parallelism to 6?

Is there any setting for the same.

I am not sure if this is a SAP HANA question or not.
