Hello,
My environment :
Server A : BO BI 4.1 SP7, WinAD authentication
Server B : BO BI 4.1 SP7, WinAD authentication
Is it possible to promote personal folders and docs from A to B with "Promotions Management" ?
How ?
I've done many tests and have errors like :
Failure : Must create object under it's defined root folder
Failure : Parent Id referenced does not exist
Is it possible to keep the same ID ?
If not, what is the best way to copy personal folders from A to B ?
(I have 365 docs in 50 personal folders to handle)
Regards,
Stéphane.
You have to use promotion management tool to promote users from A to B.
'Personal Folder' is a dependency of a user hence it will be promoted to B via Promotion management tool.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
When using the Promotion Management Tool to import reoprt with user security having third-party users such as LDAP or Windows AD with existing authentication, use the following guidelines:
Rukaiya,
My problem was actually with WinAD connector.
I disabled it (untick "Unable WinAD" in CMC/Authentication/WinAD page).
I deleted all users previously automatically imported from WinAD that deletes personal folders too.
I imported a full BIAR with users, groups, personal folders, full security...
I enabled WinAD connector again.
And now it seems to be OK (I hope !).
I checked personal folders contents, rights on public folders,...
Thanks,
Regards,
Stéphane.
Hi,
Is Server B a new installation or have you already mapped users in the it.
If you have mapped users manually instead of promoting from Server A then the CUID would be different hence you wont be able to promote directly.
If its a new installation then you could refer the following link:
First step has to be promotion of users and its security to maintain the CUID then you could go for personal folder's content.

Have you tried as below.
Promote all the users from A/B
Promote the required personal folders of the users replicated in Step 1
Thanks
Mani
