Hi

I'm looking to cleanup our current MaxDB database to reduce the size, Current DB size is 970 GB.

These are the tables > 10 GB:

Table NameGBDescription
CDCLS    193
CDHDR    105Change document header
N2PCDOC    56IS-H*MED: Content of Word6 for Windows documents (DMS)
COEP    46CO Object: Line Items (by Period)
GLPCA    27EC-PCA: Actual Line Items
ACCTIT    24Compressed Data from FI/CO Document
NTSP    20IS-H: Columns in Service Catalog
VBRP    17Billing Document: Item Data
MSEG    16Document Segment: Material
NLEI    16IS-H: Services Performed
DYNPSOURCE    14Contains Screen Source Information (Compressed)

I have not done a clean up previously.  Can someone kindly assist with step/documentation on how (and if) I can cleanup these tables.

Best Regards

Willem

Hi Willem,

Maxdb uses B*tree to store data, which does not need reorganize to clean any table.
The only way to clean a table is from application perspective. You have to discuss with your application colleagues to consult which table entries can be cleaned or if there is any application report can do this.

Best regards,
James

Hi Willem,

check out note 706478 which will give you hints how to reorganize

SAP "Basis Tables" from an application point of view.
