Unable to Register OData service in Gateway

Former Member

Hi,

I Created OData service in my ERP (ECC EHP7) box.

But I am unable to register that service in the Gateway Box.

Every time I can register the service in the ECC box itself.

I want to register the service in my NW Gateway box.

I think I am missing something at System Aliase.

Do I need to create system aliase in my ECC as well as NW box.

Thank you.

Ravinder.

Since you want to just register the service in the GW Hub system and all your MPC/DPC are already deployed in back-end :

Please perform the below steps in GW Hub System ->

1.     Create an RFC destination pointing to back-end.

2.     Create System Alias and assign the RFC Destination created in the above step keeping Local             GW & For Local App check-boxes unchecked.

3.     Now add the service using the above created System Alias and activate it.

Hi Ravinder,

I think you can register the services using SAP IMG and can search with "Manage SAP System Aliases " .

Could you please tell me if you are using two different system i.e one ECC and other as gateway system . Mostly Basis people will do those settings. If in ECC no issues and you have problem in gateway system then you need to do the required customiztation in the gateway system as well

Please let me know where you are trying to register the services or screenshot of error you are getting.

Thanks.

Hello Ravinder,

Can you share what error you are getting while registering OData service?

Cheers,

Hi Rahul,

I am not getting any error. OData service is working fine on my ERP box.

I want to access that OData service through NW Gateway.

My requirement:

I want to display the SAP Sales orders on a Fiori App.

For that I created

1. Model provider class (In ERP)

2. Data Provider / Runtime class (in ERP)

3. Configure Service (in ERP)

4. Register service (in ERP)

All the above 4 steps are done and working fine.

My requirement is I want to do the 4th step in my Gateway box.

ie:  4. Register service (in Gateway system)

because I want to access that OData service through SAP NW Gateway system.

Thank you.

Hello Ravinder,

Please check the System Alias settings in the SPRO.

Have a look at the below ->

Based on the deployment options you need to configure the system alias.

Above blog will describe details required based on the deployment option.

Ashwin
