Taxes in SAP PS

Hi Experts,

I am trying to use the  functionality of Simulation project to create different scenario for quotations.  Here only the basic cost is reflected in the cost analyisis thru SAP project system. The need is to include the Taxes in the simulation project.

Is it possible in SAP standard in simulation project as it is possible in SD quotation in va21.

Regards

Rohit

Hi Rohit,

Tax are calculated in balance sheet account or in purchase order or in sales order.

Anyway you can still consider overhead while cost calculation for project (CJ44). During planning we need to consider approx. tax that would cost for project.

Thanks pradeep /Paul for the revert. It is helpful.

The client wishes to analyse that if the same material is procured from Diffrenent vendor and Differnt stataes, then the tax struture woudl vary, so while comparing the simulation project, the client wish to see the Tax as a separate line item in simulation project.

Does it mean I have to create a statistical actvivity for getting tax, that too would be put manually.

Or thru Purchase info record, we can get the price + taxes,  but here also the tax is not coming as a spearate  line item for an analysis.

Hi Rohit,

As said earlier there couldn't be tax calculated for the cost that we are planning in project. It is considered that we estimate the cost in project considering the cost that could happen for project.

Alternately if you still want to have tax to be shown as separate line item calculated against the plan cost you can make use of overhead key and costing sheet combination.

Used the CE as credit in costing sheeting and create costing sheet having same Base with 2 different overhead key.

Use one overhead key for calculating cost say for one state in WBS in one of the version and other in next version which is used for comparison.

Note: Don't forget to run CJ44 overhead calculation transaction.

Pradeep

Hi Rohit,

It is not clear what taxes you are talking about.  Tax accounts are normally balance sheet accounts and they are not passed to Controlling.
