Hi

We are facing some problem with the XI server(3.0,SP10).

Whenever the server is started, it takes about 40 mins to start, although in the MMC all are "GREEN" after a few seconds.

Upon checking the server log and found the following :

-

trc file: "C:\usr\sap\ZXI\DVEBMGS00\work\dev_server0", trc level: 1, release: "640"

Here the hostname is cgnsap12 and SID is ZXI

When I checked the instance.properties file it showed me the some extra properties like

instance.box.number= ZXIDVEBMGS00cgnsap12

instance.system.id=0

I deleted these properties and started the server again, but again those properties were written into the file

Can anyone tell me as to where something has gone wrong ,from where are these properties being picked up and how can this be solved????????

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Sunita

Hello Sunita

You cannot edit the instance.properties manually on the operating system level, you need to make changes with the tool "configtool" that you can find on the /usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS01/j2ee/configtool directory.

If you need help about using configtool you can check it on http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/eb/1dd2416d9c1c7be10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

Hope this helps
