Dear Experts,

What will be effect if we maintain different storage types where in each storage type having different stratergy assigned to single storage type indicator

For Eg : Storage type Indicator   ST1    ST2    ST3

                   BLK                      0001   0002   0003

In this case storage type1 has Putaway Stratergy - Fixed bin ; Storage type2 has Putaway Strategy- Next empty bin , Storage type 3 has putaway - Open Strategy

How the system searches the particular storage type and Storage bin.

In the case you mentioned above if the strategy for first storage type is Fixed Bin, during Putaway TO creation system will always try to put into the first storage type and it will ignore further storage type setting

Dear Manish,

If the system doesnot find the fixed bin, will the system go for 2nd storage type and find the bin with strategy next empty bin and further to add more if it doesnot find the next empty it search the bin using Open Storage Stratergy.

Hi

It is not possible to 'not find' a fixed bin as it is maintained within the MMR however, if the capacity of the fixed bin has been exceeded, the system will then look in ST2.

As mentioned by Coles, if you have capacity check define and once capacity is exceeded then only system will look for bin from another storage type

Hi

I can't see any issue with this. The system would first check in ST1 and the bin maintained in the MMR. If there was insufficient capacity, it would then search ST2 for an empty bin. If no bin existed in ST2 the system would look for the next Stype in the search sequence and place the stock in ST3.

I haven't tested this though, suggest you set it up and test for yourself.

Cheers
