warning: Some software component versions are not covered by product instances

Hello Experts,

While verification check in solman, getting a warning "Some software component versions are not covered by product instances" as below

Although its a warning ,how can i get rid of it?

these are the product instances and versions assigned .

scenario:Configuring ERP 6.0 EHP 7 in solution manager 7.1 SP13

Hi,

Sometimes this happens when there are too many product instances assigned to the product system. You can try to edit product system assignment. For product system PSP0001, assign only product instances which have automatic supplier (SAP ERP 6.0 - ECC server; EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 - ABAP Technology for EHP7, Central Applications and Master Data Governance) and Fiori ERP applications present in the system. Then please repeat the verification and post the result.

Hi Jelena,

Please find the snap i hadn't given any of the product it is automatically assigned.And the fiori which i have installed is also automatically proposed by the solution manager..(As you can see i have reconfigured the instance from PSP0001 to PSP but no matter the warning is stil there)

Hi,

My suggestion was to edit product system PSP (or PSP0001, name does not make any difference). In LMDB go to product system PSP (not technical system), then choose section Assigned Technical Systems, and remove all assigned technical systems except for those I listed in the previous post.

Solution Manager gives a lot of suggestions when assigning technical systems to a product system, it is not necessary to assign all of them.

You might first need to remove logical component assignment.

You need to play around a bit with product instance assignment. Try to remove all assigned product instances, then Save. After that do the assignment from scratch, but assign only SAP ERP 6.0 ECC server and EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 Central Applications (as I can see from your system's software components, it is plain ERP 6.0 EHP7 with additional Fiori applications), then repeat verification check. If it asks to assign Master Data Governance and ABAP Technology instances, assign them. It will then probably suggest to assign Fiori applications as well, assign them too. It is important to do the assignment step by step, not all at once, in order to find the correct combination.

Click the icons in the proposal column of the verification check to remove those items.

Afterwards rerun the verification check.

i have removed all assigned product instances and saved as you said and added  as shown below but still it propose to remove priorly  added product instances..What should i do ?? unassign 'em?

Try to unassign Central Applications only. If that does not work, unassign SAP ECC server as well.

Still, it is very strange because the warning which had initially been generated was caused by the fact that SAP ECC server and EHP7 Central Applications had not been assigned to PSP product system.

I tried it but still unlucky..

it may be saying that it is already assigned but i'm not sure,that's why solman proposes to unassign the product instance ??

Unassign it then, it might work since you assigned SAP NW AS ABAP 7.4. Are Central Applications still assigned or not? I cannot tell from the screenshot.

Done unassigned 'em but again back to the previous state.No, the central components are not assigned.as shown in the figure solman also proposing to unassign 'em. according to  sapnote 2083360 - Missing Product Assignment in LMDB Can we ignore the warning then?

Yes, it can be ignored, however I am not sure how SolMan will behave when calculating stacks for updates and upgrades in Maintenance Optimizer.

Really strange that it is not accepting correct product instances...

I would suggest also to import latest version of CR content to SLD, wait for SLD -> LMDB synchronization and try to assign ECC server and Central Applications one more time (if CR content is not already at the latest version, of course). What is your SolMan SP level?

It seems some issue with product assignment in LMDB. can you run the landscape verification tool in LMDB and you will get to know exactly what you are missing.

I think i got the above result from LMDB As you can see the below screen shot..

There is no proposal or something that i could find, and there is one ! mark and the diagnosis is shown above in  first screen shot ..

After re executing  landscape verification  the same warning getting again as i pasted above in the discussion ..
