Adding classic ECO to Engineering change record in PLM Web UI?

Hello Experts,

We are implementing PLM WebUI3 on EhP7. We use the Engineering change request and engineering change order process in existing sap instance.

1)Business prefers to use the ECR/ECO process in WebUI.

Is there any way to add these processes to Engineering change records/ engineering change numbers in Web UI?

2) In Web UI , the business wants to customize the existing standard screens for ECN and ECR ( adding few custom fields/changing field texts, deleting unrequired fields etc.) is there any easy way to handle it without programming? For ECR, we have a class 046 available but there is no tab on the EC record screen? It could be easier to handle thru class and characteristics.

Has anyone came across these scenarios? Appreciate your help in advance.

Hi,

Engineering Record with Change Master(s) is the more flexible alternative to classic ECR/ECO. The Engineering Record for the approval phase and beyond as the leading object, the Change Master(s) for the implementation phase (in the background).

So integration to/of classic ECR/ECO in ERP does not make sense. Should be migrated to above.

Thanks Ulf. The issue is, we want to use the standard ECR functionality without doing the custom development. We want the following functionality in ECR: Assigning the routing object to the engineering record Assigning the other task list such as Inspection records to the engineering record Assigning the class and characterastics to engineering chage record, so as to add/update the new fields to the stabdard ECR screens? Need extensive workflows Need to group the change data at the object( material/document) level Lock object Reserve the object Is it possible in the standard systm? There is no documentation for EhP7 WUI3 available on the ECR process.
