Warranty of Equipment

Hi

We are not using PM and CS

Requirement : if new PS equipment is under warranty and PS team is requesting for  machine maintenance from external vendor

user need to get Warranty pop message for under warranty machines

Is there any  setting like PM setting to get warranty pop up for PS equipments

Or any other way to achieve is requirement though  Preq / PO

Hi Ajay,

If you are not using PM/CS. Considering this has a material not has a equipment.

You can create contracts and assign it or use material class as described below

Material Master Warranty Period | SCN

I request you to discuss with MM team for the same. Additionally i doubt whether the POP-up can be done in standard CJ20N process, but still it will be possible if you use custom logic.

Can i know how general maintenance in PS is handle

Can i book cost of general maint. in Cost center

Hi Ajay,

Well, are you trying to use PS instead of PM ?

I am not sure whether this can be incorporated in your system

PM Functionality


1. We use Functional Location / Equipment as Technical object to which we do maintenance and capture the cost.

2. We have control key PM01 - Internal Labour  / PM03 - External Labour (Which creates Service Entry Sheet)

3. Materials can be issued from Stores or procured from vendor.

4. Settlement and Business Closure

PS Functionality

1. We have Project / WBS to capture the cost.

2. We have PS01 - Internal Activity/ PS02 - External Activity / PS03 - Cost Activity / PS04 - Service control keys

3. Material components can be issued from stores or procured from vendor. You can assign material to any of the above activity.

4. Settlement and Closure

Outline of both the systems look same, but the purpose of using the system is different. If you create Equipment as a WBS element in PS, still you can calculate the cost of the materials / service spend under the WBS element, using that you can settle to cost centre and stuff.

Hi

We have one plant where PM is not used , but they have PS

Project team need  PM Warranty type functionality for there  project specific equipments

can i used network for machine maintenance and do cost center settlement

and but some code logic for warranty popup in network or CJ20N

First i would like to ask, how are you defining Equipment in Project System. The solution is based on how you built it.
