Removal fixed indicator for MIC control indicators

HI all QM gurus,

In my clients system I have found that the control indicators for the MIC's are fixed (not to be confused with fixed scope of inspection!), which means that it is not possible to change the control indicators any more neither in the MIC itself or in the inspection plans.

These MIC's are not created with reference to any class characteristics.

Any ideas?

Hello,

Offhand I'm not sure how to remove the fixed indicator from the MIC itself. You should, however, be able to unlock it at the inspection plan level by the addition of a new preset indicator that is not set to fixed.

Hi John,

Apologies for the delayed response - had to turn my priority in other direction.

Your suggestion works fine! As soon as I assign another preset indicator it unlocks the MIC provided that the fixed indicator is not set in customizing for the preset indicator.

One problem though, my client is using this MIC in thousands of inspection plans. Any ideas of how to massupdate this?  My client is not using reference MIC's.

Probably LSMW is the best option for a mass update.
