Using Netweaver as an integration platform

Hi all,

Could you please help me to explain more detail about my question ?

Is there any way to integrate R3 with a core business system (existing application in general) through SAP Netweaver ? It means we use Netweaver as an middleware or an integration platform to connect R3 with other applications ?

If so, we can use what technology ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If you already have a R3 system and want to integrate with NetWeaver, you can implement Enterprise Portal technology of Netweaver.

If you implement portal you can manage all you backend system data through portal itself. It's web based technology.

To know more about enterprise portal please refer http://help.sap.com as well.

Hi Murali,

Thanks for your reply.

But I mean that, in this case, can we use NW as an middleware, or an application platform to integrate SAP and Non-SAP system through the connector framework or other technologys ?

Thanks.

Hi Sylvecast,

You can use XI (Exchange Infrastructure) for your purpose. XI is a middleware which we use for data integration either to SAP or to Non-SAP platforms. XI is having a adapter framework which is one step ahead than the connecter framework and these adapters do the data conversion that will be understood by SAP platform.

Just have a look on this below link for basics of XI:

For more on XI visit the homepage:

P.S. Rewarding points will give 1 point yourself.

Hi

There is a link where you can visualize how netweaver can be used as a middleware. Its just an example. If you tell me exactly what your scenario is ,it would be easy to provide solution.

Thanks all

Hi Rajat,

My scenario is, now, I have an 3rd party application and R3 application. As currency, I have to export a file from this 3rd party app. and then import to R3 app. to do something. And it's not a good way. So, I want to use Netweaver as an middleware to integrate information between this two system.

Thanks & kindly regards

Hi,

Yes, You can use NW platform as an middleware to integrate for your SAP to NON SAP applications.

For ex: You can connect your Java application using JCO/JCA connections to your SAP applications.

For infor on integration architecture you can visit help.sap.com
