SLD issue during migration

Hi,

we are migrating from old SAP PI 7.1 to new SAP PI 7.4 (double stack).

We imported the SLD content from the old to the new SLD.

Transport is from old SAP PI PRD to new SAP PI PRD (QA to QA and DEV to DEV).

When we import Directory objects from old PRD PI to new PRD PI we get this error:

Unable to convert <PECC>, Reason: Import failed because of business system transfer of object ..... Obligatory transport target object for business system <PECC> not found in SLD.

On old SLD <PECC> has no target defined as it is the last system in the group queue. It is related to an IS with group PROD.

Setting is the same in new SLD.

We changed that in new SLD by removing the transport group for the IS. Error is still the same.

Any ideas are welcome.

Best regards

Dirk

Hi Meinhard,

Have you checked this note 2068999 - Migrating an SLD?

In a recent migration from XI 3.0 to PI 7.4 we did the SLD migration mainly manually. First the basis team creates manually the Landscape configuration (business and technical system). Later i imported the Product and software components as i explained in this thread Need advice for SLD migration PO 7.4 | SCN

Hope this helps in something.

Regards.

Hi Meinhard,

If you don't want to create new group and new business system in SLD and you want to keep same names in new PI system then import the QA configuration into new PI system directory that is QECC configuration because in your new PI system's SLD have the transport target for QECC (QECC--->PECC) so when you import the QECC configuration object the system will convert the configuration from QECC to PECC based on your SLD transport targets.

Hi Dirk,

When you import the directory objects the system will look in the target SLD (in your case it is new SLD) for source system PECC transport target assigned or not, if assigned it will convert to the system which we given in the transport target, if not maintained you will get above error. So in your taget SLD two groups must be there one is pointing to Old PI system another one is pointing to New PI system, and the system PECC must be assigned to Old PI system group and you need to have new business system for PECC like NECC (just for example New ECC) and assign it to New PI system group, and then create a transport target for source in your case it is PECC.

(NGROUP-->NECC) then your transport will work.

OLDGROUP(OLD PI)               NEWGROUP(New PI)

PECC                                        NECC

Transport Target: NEWGROUP ---->NECC for PECC business system in new SLD.

Regards,

Praveen.
