SAP WebGUI File Browser: IE uses java applet unlike Chrome. Why?

We are using SAP ERP ECC 6 EHP 7. Most of our users are logged into the system via SAP WebGUI using Internet Explorer 11. All the functionality seems fine on IE 11 except attachements/file browser dialog which requires JRE (Java Applet). Now even Oracle has ditched JRE and chrome no longer using it, how can we make our Internet Explorer 11 using file browser just the way chrome uses (applet less).

HI Mohsin,

From SAP related  application views are opened in IE and Chrome. you need to check and enable the compatible view and need to make trusted site if any view not visible. I believe SAP officially recommended IE browser to use.

Thanks

Hi Brindavan,

Actually it works fairly slow on IE as it loads JRE applet for adding/removing/opening attachments with Purchase Requisitions, Orders etc. Chrome on the other hand works very fast in opening this dialog as it does not use applet. I wonder any such settings are available for IE too to use file attachment dialog without using JRE/applet.
