Hi Everyone
For one of our customer currently we are using Portal 7.02 most of the custom applications are built on top of WDJ components. We do have around 15 applications running in PRD Portal.
Question:
***********
there is no source code maintained for these projects and all are local WDJ components.
currently we have some new requirement to add some changes in these components.
I could see the only way we can copy the .ear file from PRD Portal directly and Import into NWDS to generate the source code. Request you to please provide the exact steps that we need to generate the complete set of code via this approach. any issues that you foreseen if we follow this approach pls advice?
also provide the exact NWDS version that we needed in this case?
or if any other better way of approach available to retrieve the complete set of source code please let me know?
Thanks
Kiruthiga
Hi
the ear file contains only the runtime objects (e.g class files) meaning you won't be able to retrieve the original source code as also pointed out by the others. You could use decompilers like jad, but that would not be the original code and would not be enough to continue developing the application.

Ervin
