Print Allignment issue after ECC 6.0 EHP 7.0 Upgrade

Hi Basis Expert,

We have done ECC 6.0 EHP 7.0 Upgrade from R/3 4.7 Unicode system.

After the upgrade we found print alligmnet issue with the output device. The alligment is not proper. This is in Dev Upgraded Box and also same in Quality Box.

But in Production which is still 4.7 Unicode the allignment looks good.

I have done changes in the SPAD in the Device type by giving Production device type. After changing to few device type for the output device the print alligmnet looks ok but not that much correct.

In which font the output is coming?

Thanks for the response

The Printer Vendor name is TVS.

But as per the SAP 1097990. There is no TVS printer in the note.

The alignment is fine with R/3 4.7 Unicode system with TVS printer. But after ECC 6.0 EHP 7.0 upgrade the alignment is not proper.

Dear Anil,

Compare the font in the upgraded system with the production system.

Try to assign the device type SAPWIN LATIN 1 to the tvs printer and check the alignment.

If it is a smartform , then check with the ABAP team.

Hi Anil,

Please check SAP Note 1036961 - Device type selection wizard in transaction SPAD ( Refer from SAP Note 8928) and try to use the wizard to select proper device type for your printer. There are few guides attached with this note in which there are step by step process provided.

Printer definition is dependent on the device type also.

Hi Anil,

After upgrading to ECC 6.0 EHP 7.0, you will get the latest device types.

Please check the below sap note and assign the correct device type based on the Printer model and Printer vendor.

Thanks for the SAP Note.

But after upgrade we are on SAP_BASIS 740 with SP level 11.

But in the note i am unable to get the device type for SAP_BASIS 7.40

Hi Anil,

In the SAP Note 1097990, It will have List of Printer vendor Notes based on the vendor you need to check in that SAP note.

for eg: Your printer vendor is HP then check the SAP Note : 1135055
