IDT : New Relational Connection : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

Dear all,

I'm trying to create a new relational connection to a MS SQL Server 2012 database, using the jdbc-driver.

The test fails : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0

This error message indicates I have to use a jvm 1.7.

I installed java 1.7, see screenshot.

This can help to make sure you configured the JDBC drivers correctly and then creating a connection.

Thanks for your reply.

The key to the solution was the configuration for the JDBC connectivity on the server side.

In order to create a new relational connection in IDT on a workstation, you have to configure the JDBC connectivity on the workstation and on the server.

Hello Mohammed,

I'm able to create connection and test it as well.I'm also able to create report in webi rich client as well.But i'm trying to refresh the report in BI launch pad getting the unsupported major.minor version 51.0 error.

Could anyone please help?

Hi Saritha,

Can you check if the Client Tools version (including SP and FP) (on your desktop/laptop) and the Server Tools version (on BO Server) are the same? If yes, can you check if the Java version (on your desktop/laptop) and the BO server are compatible with the BO version?
