SPROXY - No connection to ESR

Hi,

I am getting the ESR connection error to SPROXY to the PI 7.4 ( Java stack) from ECC 6.0 EHP7.

Below reports are giving error as well.

1.SPROX_CHECK_IFR_ADDRESS

cannot determine repository version

2.SPROX_CHECK_IFR_RESPONSE

Requested repository is down

SAP_SPROX_ESR connection test is working and destination type is G

a) Should I have check anything on the PI 7.4 side.

b) Should I check LCRSAPRFC connection for the ECC 6.0 EHP7 and PI 7.4 integration?

c) SLD hostname should be same in RZ70 and SLDAPICUST ?

Will appreciate any pointers for resolving the issue?

Thanks in advance

Hi MPS,

there is no firewall between the systems.

LCRSAPRFC gives below error

Error when opening an RFC connection ( CPIC- CALL 'ThSAPCMNIT' :cmRC=17)

Error : SAP gateway connection failed. Is SAP gateway started?

Location : ECC hostname

any help will be appreciated..

Thanks in advance

Just to add..

RZ70 and SLDAPICUST are having Central SLD hostname..and connection test is successful..

what could be the issue still.

Thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

Your central SLD is of PI System or Solution Manager?

Also did you checked host file entries in your ECC and PI System as I asked yesterday?

Thanks,

MPS

Hi All,

Issue is resolved .

Solution : Retyped the maintained user password in RFC connection.

Quite surprising...

Thank you all for your continuous replies...you supported me like a team..

Hello Daniel,

As suggested in my first reply, the issue would be with the credentials. This was the reason i asked you to check the credentials by logging into your PI system.

Request you to close this query.

Nitin

Hi Nitin,

Normally if issue with credentials, the connection test will fail.

But in my case, it was successful and didn't give any error. otherwise it would have been found out early.

Re-entering the password, resolved the issue.

sure..closing the thread....Thanks again....

Hello Daniel,

When you are connecting from ABAP system to Java system, the connection test does not fail due to the wrong credentials.

I have faced this issue previously, hence suggested you to check the password. You can manually enter wrong password and verify this

Nitin

Dear Daniel,

Kindly share the instance number of your system.

Hello Daniel,

Can you please check the credentials used in SAP_PROXY_ESR RFC destination? You can use these credentials and try logging into your single-stack PI system. The issue seems to be with the credentials. If the credentials are not working, then put the correct credentials in SAP_PROXY_ESR.

And i hope you have created the RFC destination with name SAP_PROXY_ESR and not SAP_SPROX_ESR (as mentioned in your initial post).

Connection test will not give you the confirmation of connection to Java only system, when you try to connect from ABAP system.

Nitin

SAP_PROXY_ESR  RFC connection test is working...we had maintained PIREPUSER in it.

but the error is still occurs.

PI system instance number is 63

Are you able to login to the PI system using the user PIREPUSER? If this user is not a dialog user, then request you to change it into dialog user for time being and login into your PI system just to check for the password is not expired.

Yes..Able to login to the PI system using PIREPUSER.

Any chance for firewall issue..should I check the LCRSAPRFC connection also?..there I see a gateway connection error for ECC system.SAP gateway connection error..Is gateway started.

still struggling for the solution. will appreciate your help

Thanks in advance

Hi Daniel,

Is there any firewall between ECC & PI or not? If both servers belong to same domain and network then there shouldn't be firewall issue until unless your network team has added rules for that.

If there is gateway connection error then check and try adding hostname entries in host file and restart gateway services.

Secondly which SLD you are using? Solman or PI? if you are using PI SLD then yes RZ70 and SLDAPICUST hostname should be same and connection test should work from both tcodes.

If its same PI SLD then your RFCs LCRSAPRFC & SAPSLDAPI should also test correctly.

Please check all these.

Thanks,

MPS

Hi Daniel

What is your OS?

Have you checked host file entries on your ECC and PI server?

Thanks,

MPS
