saplikey error: failed to load shared library when connecting to the database

Hi all,

When am trying to apply license through saplikey in SAP Net-weaver 7.3  am getting the following error failed to load shared library when connecting to the database.

Please find the screenshot for reference. The database is SQL 2008 R2.

I tried with both <SID>ADM and through Admin like user , Kindly let me know how to resolve the issue.

Refer the SAP KBA for the error message " saplikey error: failed to load shared library "

Hi Sri Ram,

Honest mistake , rectified it ,  while requesting for the SAP License Key I applied for MYSQL (for which I had to apply  Microsoft SQL Server) Now everything's working fine even through am getting the same error

You kernel &DBSL patch level are same?

Could you share the latest log?

No they are not on the same patch level. Am sending the dev_likey log as an attachment.

1. Are you log on in SIDADM user id ?

2. Refer the SAP Note 1508287 - New installation using saplikey instead of using saplicense

As per your logs it shows that dbms_type environment variable is not set. Please check it and try.

Are you logon as SAP SIDADM user id at OS level to execute the SAPLIKEY command?

Yes, I tried logging in as SIDADM and through sidadm like user but no luck.

Can you please copy system's DEFAULT profile parameters here? Also please paste screenshot of ENV variable for your SIDADM.

Hi Kaushik.

Have you used the SAPLIKEY command on NW 7.3 systems before? Normally we use transaction code slicense.

What is the kernel version??

If you are using lower than kernel 7.20_ext then please upgrade the kernel and retry.

The Kernel version is 7.20_ext , we have the latest Kernel applied.

1. Have you update the kernel and DBSL patch  in shadow instance? as mention in the SAP Note 1867071?

2. Could you share the full log as attachment?
