Metadata from Excel in metadata management

Can we get  metadata from excel in Information steward .

Do we need MITI licence  as same as Erwin modeler tool?

I have update the excel format provided in IS , but my concern is when try to upload the metadata ,  i can able to see tables not the fields or column mentioned in excel and the job is successfully executing .

please share you mail id so that i can share you the excel ,I cannot able to attach the excel as it is large in size with this thread.

According to the Documentation, the Excel Metadata Integrator should collect the following information:

The Excel Metadata Integrator collects the following types of objects, which you can view in the Metadata Management directory page in the Relational Database category:

• Deployed Software Module
• Relational Database
• Relational Catalog
• Relational Schema
• Relational Table
• Relational View
• Relational Column
• Relational Index
• Relationship

Yes, there has been an Excel Metadata Integrator been added to the standard set of Metadata Integrator of SAP Information Steward in one of the latest releases:
