Upload of Rule sets in SPRO

Hello Experts,

We are doing the migration from 5.3 to 10.1 without using the migration tool.

We have download all the 5.3 files and spitted to 10 files of 10.1 Format and now we are ready to upload in SPRO.

Our query is: in 5.3 we have 6 Logical Systems and 2 Cross Systems and 10 Connectors.

To which corresponding system we have to upload the files in SPRO. I have one set of 10 files. So do i have to select each system from dropdown and upload the same files every time in SPRO. Is it the right approach, because the uploaded functions will have all the 6+2+10 connectors. which is not valid. Some functions have only 1 logical system, some have 2 logical sytems and some have only cross systems and some have only ECC etc.

or else the files from 5.3 should be spitted into different set of files corresponding to 6 logical and 2 cross and other connectors(FUNCATION ACTION AND PERMISSION files) and upload accordingly. If it is then it requires huge efforts. For each system in 5.3 we have to generate the seperaye set of files. Which is time consuming and also prone to errors.

Please Suggest the best way of approach for uploading the files for logical and cross and connectors.

Regards,

Ravi.

Hi Ravi,

For uploading files(.txt) in GRC 10.1 the files will not contain any system information . please go through below link for format required for uploading files

http://scn.sap.com/community/grc/blog/2014/04/21/download-modify-and-upload-the-access-risk-analysis...

In your case you are having 6 logical systems and 2 Cross Systems and 10 Connectors for 5.3

Similarly in GRC 10.1 create 6 logical connector group and add relavant indiviual connector in to it.

For example - logical connector group will be X_Logical and it will include relavant system

system1

system2

system3

...

while uploading files you can select logical connector group and upload those files. all the risk will get applicable for those systems which you have included in logicval connector group.

whereas for Cross system you will include cross system in to cross system group but while uploading files you can upload it those 9 files againts indiviual system

While doing risk analysis system will detect the cross risk.

For system which are not relevant to logical and cross system you have to upload the files by selecting specific system.
