Copy Item Number Between sales documents

Hi,

Between the copy of 2 sales order, I had specified in parametrization that item number should be kept (tcode VTAA - field POSVO).

When the first copy occurs everything is ok. If I try to copy another item to the same sales order, the item number isn't copied and the item gets the next number from the determination of item's increment.

For example: I want to copy item 30 from sales ordem A to sales order B. The first item of B gets number 30, which is ok. I also need to copy item 50 from A to B. In this second copy, the number of B order will be 40 and not 50 as I wish.

Does anybody had this problem?

Hello Ana,

I have simulated test case on my DEV system. I was able to achieve copy of item 30 and 50. While checking help on field "Copy Item number POSVO "

Help suggests  that if you are trying to copy higher level item then system doesnt copy item number and renumber items. For further clarification please once check sap help about the same.
