Hello Experts,
we have a scenario where client system is placing file in a ftp folder and sap PO is picking up files and posting to SAP.
But while placing the files the file name is getting placed starting with "?????", through which our file channel is failing with FTP:550 unexpected error file name syntax error.
Now the clients has requested us to make the possibility for picking up the files where file name starts with "??????" also.
Is it possible to pick up the files whose name starts with cyrllic charchters like "????" .
Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestions

Chaithanya
Hi Chaithanya,
"?" (question mark) is not a valid symbol for a file name. And "?" is not really a letter of Cyrillic alphabet.
Can you please check with the support of a client system, if this is a matter of character set of tools they use to list files on the FTP server and display their names? I assume FTP browser tools they use are not enabled (or corresponding character set is not selected there) to display Cyrillic letters and replace them with "?", even though original file name contains Cyrillic letters and can be processed by PI. In SAP Note 821267, answer for a question 20, you can find more details about how to enable File adapter to poll files with names containing specific character set symbols (using system property "file.encoding").
Regards,
Vadim
