Solman - Early Watch Reports

Former Member

Hi there,

This is a question I posted a couple of weeks ago. A couple of good people did make

some suggestions but I am still faced with the same problem. So here goes:

The Early watch report for one of our systems (BWP) is not being emailed out for some reason

When I go into SDCCN on BWP I can see that the job has run ok:

SMD is our solman sustem ID.

Within solman I go into solution_manager and see:

Where both the icons are missing

I can run the self diagnosis on the above service which returns :

Which does suggest all is well.

I have already made sure I recreated the RFC connections in BWP.

Within SOST on solman I can see :

Which shows the emails sent foe the other three systems in the EWA.

However, there isnt a BWP

I really dont know where to go from here.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

Hi,

Please do the following:

In solman run transaction SMSY -> Environment -> Solution Manager Operations -> Administration SDCCN

Select your client system (I hope the SDCCN status is green)  and call SDCCN

On the next screen chose Goto -> Settings -> Task Specific and check RFC Destination settings

Good Luck.

Hi Anatoliy, Thanks for the help. Just done that and seen:

When I look into the error I see:

Looks like a role/permission is missing??

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Check in the target system you will find a dump registered at the time test was made.

T-RC=2, means the user used in the rfc lacks S_RFC or S_RFCACL role in the target client. i.e. in BWP, 011 client

Get this role for the users and check the RFC destination again.

Hi,

I just added the trusted role and was able to perform a succsesful remote login.

Previously I couldnt.

So fingers crossed I'm hoping this has solved the issue.

Thanks

Andy

But what about RFC settings for SDCCN? You need to check that BWP uses correct RFC destination to solman

Hi Again,

Just checked and the Early Watch for BWP has again failed to start automatically.

No email has been sent either.

When I look I see:

Again both the icons :  are missing for BWP above.

I cant see any errors anywhere, all the RFC connections seem to be working.

I really dont know where to go from here chaps!!

Any ideas??

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

Please go through below sap notes for troubleshooting..

1769513 - EWA not generated - session data is overdue (red flag status)

1826552 - EarlyWatch Alerts (EWA) reports in Solution Manager 7.1 is not being sent by email

Also make sure you have SM:EXEC SERVICES job running on daily basis..

SM:EXEC SERVICES must run one time per day.

The recommended/default time for the managed system SDCCN EWA task is 4:00 am, and can take an hour or so, therefore ensure you don't schedule SM:EXEC SERVICES until after your managed systems SDCCN EarlyWatch Alert tasks complete:

  1. Use transaction code SM36 to schedule SM:EXEC SERVICES.
  2. Must be scheduled as a periodic job to run 1 time(s) per day.
  3. Set time after the managed system SDCCN EWA tasks have completed.

Regards,

Prithviraj.
