Key Points to consider to implement service tax

Hi

My company is going to implement MM Module in a small organization providing construction service.

As per my understanding a construction service provider cannot take credit for the input service tax however they have to pay the service tax / provide output service tax while taking service from another service provider or while buying materials or capital goods.

1. Please suggest what type of questionnaire we should prepare to ask them for data gathering session to implement service tax for MM for the company.

For example..

a. What type of service tax you are using for service procurement and what are their rates etc..

2. Please also suggest the steps we need to follow to implement service tax for them.

Sanju,

You might want to just gather information on different input and output taxes that are applicable to their PO / SO processes rather than limiting to a particular tax type.

You can decide which standard condition types would be helpful to capture their tax percentages after that.

Service tax configuration steps have been explained before in this forum. Please research.
