CTM Results: multiple small orders

Hi all

I am using CTM for continous planning and I get multiple orders of 0,009. What is the logic of that behaviour? How can I get just one order?

The system is creating small orders at the begining of available capacity.

Hi Carlos,

Please check in the SPRO, CTM Global value what is your strategy for Late Demand. Should be domino.

Check this thread to see some screenshots:

Thanks,

We are working in MTO scenario and akthough there is capacity available to cover sales order on time, some small orders are created with 0,009 qty. If I round, then the orders are 1 unit qty,

MTO or MTS same things to do!

I change lot size in product master but ctm is not taking the lot size into account. It is set in the profile to use lote size

Try to increase Maximum Time for Scheduling a Demand in the tab Settings - Technical settings to 180 or 300 seconds. Do you have enough memory? Does the CTM run takes a long time?

Thanks for your reply. I am just testing the model with one item/sales order, so I don´t think it is a problem of memory.

I changed Maximun time to 99999 and still the same.

If the order is up to 1000, it does not create small orders, but if the orders is more than 1000 then small orders.

Hi Carlos,

When in MTO scenario, you need to check the indicator lot Size Always in the location-product Lot size tab. On the other hand, CTM should work fine in MTO even without checking this indicator.

What are the min & max lot size on the PP/DS PDS and what is the continuous resource consumption for the activity?

AK

Hi AK

The check is already marked.

In the PPDS for CTM I have the following

min 0- max 99999999

consumption: 1 s

Is the lot size procedure Lot - for - Lot?

Fix lot size

Please change to Lot for Lot, delete the old planned orders and run CTM again.

Still same results. And for components CTM is ignoring lot sizes from product master data

Carlos,

Did you read the note?  In particular, did you check to see if that note is relevant for your system?

Best Regards,

It is not relevant.

Also if ctm is not taking into account lot sizes of material for continous time.

In the profile I have use lot size

It is creating one second orders just after the non working time...

Hi Carlos,

Can you increase the time in the setting "Maximum interval between activities" (CTM Profile Tab Setting - Master Data Setting - Inhouse production) to lets say 30 days and test.

Thanks for your reply AK, but still the same and lot size for component is not considered by CTM from master data.

Hi Carlos

Sorry if I have miss communicated, but you require to change the rounding planning parameters to Round order Qty as below.

Please also maintain the planning parameter which is mentioned below i.e. Precision

You can go to CTM profile header -->Control-->Planning parameters.

Please let us know if this information helps you.

Thanks
