Technical Monitoring - Watch Security Notes

Hello

we are using "System Recommendation" where security notes gets suggested.

Is there also a possibility, to display e.g. security notes in Technical Monitoring?

So that we get notified if a security note was released?

Maybe with "Configuration Validation"?

Kind regards

I'e solved it on my way.

I did create a customer check, where I call the function module AGSNO_API_GET_RECOMM_NOTES.

This gives you the recommended abap-notes per system and stack.

You also can filter by status (e.g. postponed, irrelevant), priority and group (HotNews, ...).

Big adavantage in my eyes, you get informed if a new note gets released and is relevant for a system.

Maybe I am completly blind at the moment...but as far as I understood, I can't track automatically/get informed automatically, if a hot news/security note gets released.

At least note via technical monitoring.... I try to realize this via function module and give feedback.

Thx

Hi Anon,

Are you talking about configuration validation->system recommendation which helps you to identify missing notes as mentioned below

ConfVal_Reporting_SysRec - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

and you can check below link which shows the available option for integration of config validation with technical monitoring

ConfVal_Alerting - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

hope it clarifies

Thanks

Thx a lot, you made my day today.

I am not so familar with the configuration-validation...but this is really a powerful thing.

I've found a store named "0SEC_NEW" which also includes ABAP_NOTES store.

So this is the store which seems to get updated through the system-recommendation.

I will make a metric for this.

Thx a lot!

hmm.... I think that was a bit to fast.

I tried to do that, but than I realized that the stores are not they one, which are used for system-recommendation.

Therefore it isn't working the way I expected...

Prakhar, do you have any other idea how I can realize this?
Because as far as I know, I can't watch a Configuration-Validation-REPORT in TechMon right?
only comparing source and target validation...

Hi Anon,

Request you to please check 2 different links shared earlier

one is for config validation ...also check below one specially your use case

ConfVal_Target_SysRec_OnlineRec - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

Now once you know about config validation...you can use them in alerting..ofcourse not everything is available but you can customize to meet your requirement.///below shows the existing ones////but more important is it varies with SP version of Solution Manager as also mentioned in wiki

ConfVal_Alerting - Technical Operations - SCN Wiki

hope this helps further

Thanks

got it, but I thought I can do this also with one generic store, which gets updated automatically.

And against this I can do the check.

But so, I need to create for each system a target-store.

Do you know, if the update from recommendation->store is done automatically or has it to be done again and again (like in the 1st setup)?

Kind regards

Next thing is...as far as I understand, that if I mark a note as "not relevant" in System Recommendations, that this is not considered.

So I would always get an error, if I have one note which I don't want/ned to implement ... ::/
