Item 000010 can not be invoiced according to the billing plan

Hi All,

During creation of contract if the item category (say ZQTY) is relevant for billing plan then a billing plan tab is accessible showing us all the details of the plan. If we change item category which to another item category (say ZNC) which is basically free, the billing plan tab is inaccessible (which is as expectecd). Now if we change back from ZNC to ZQTY the billing plan is still not accessible and we get error message "

Item 000010 can not be invoiced according to the billing plan". If we change item category from ZQTY to ZYR we are still able to see new billing plan details  but does not work when changing between categories ZQTY to ZNC and then back to ZQTY.

Below screens can be accessed via VOV7.

Any reason why billing plan is not getting generated?

Resolved.

the vbap-fkrel indicator was not getting set from tvap-fkrel. I did it ZB exit and it resolved the issue with billing plan

What SAP version you are working with? There is a OSS note out there, but that is applicable only upto 46C.  210849 - Change of item category in the sales document

We are on ECC 6.0 701.

You need to reconfirm that after changing the item category ZNC and deleting ZQTY, did you save the changes?  If not, try reverting the ZQTY after saving

The item category gets changed based on the value entered in item characteristics screen.

This does not happen when we are moving between ZQTY to ZYR or vice versa. But the problem is seen when we move from ZQTY to ZNC and when change ZNC to ZQTY the billing never re-appears. For some reason billing plan FLNR goes blank does not get re-generated.
