My client wishes to upgrade its current SQL Anywhere 9 database to 16 and keep the current PowerBuilder 8,9,12 applications. What is the best approach and what are some of the challenges we are facing?

Hi Nagender;

  FYI: Starting with PB v12.0 through to today's current PB 12.6 ... PB only officially supports SA v12. I believe that PB v15 was to support SA16 - but as we now know, the PB 15 release was pulled after the 1st beta.

  FWIW: More recent versions of PB 12.x should work with SA16 or higher using the ODBC middle-ware connectivity layer. However, from within PB 12.x, you will only be allowed to use SA v12 functionality (AFAIK).

HTH

Regards ... Chris
