Dear Andre,

Just run the below command at os level.

id smdadm

Check whether it is returning anything or not.

You need to create a user smdadm at os level as the error as it is failing to upgrade the host agaent

[ERROR] (Success) Get id of user sapadm failed.</html>).

Hi Ashutosh,

Thanks for your reply..

There is no smdadm user in my OS , but do you mean *SID*ADM user?

here's my *sid*adm user

uid=1000(*sid*adm) gid=1001(sapsys) groups=1000(sapinst),1001(sapsys)

Dear Ashutosh,

sapadm user allready created by installation step 1 I think, so I check below:

cat /etc/passwd

soladm:x:1000:1001:SAP System Administrator:/home/soladm:/bin/csh

sybsol:x:1001:1001:SAP Database Administrator:/sybase/SOL:/bin/csh

Allready created

Dear Andre,

sapadm user is used for saphostcontrol.

Just type the below command at OS level and paste the output.

Hi Andre,

If "sapadm" doesnot exist then it will be created during the SAP host agent installation using /bin/false shell.

In your case "sapadm" is still not yet created. Please add "/bin/false" to the list of valid login shells in /etc/security/login.cfg. so that the installer creates automatically during installation.

Please find the below snaps for your reference:

After adding please continue.

I hope this helps you
