add variable mapping to target field

Hi all;

i will have to map variable value to target field.

i have been following

it is good blog but it did not work . 

Added variable as SEQID in target structure (increase 1, 2, 3) for getting SeqID from database and will have to map SEQID to target fields XSEQ.

so tryied to XSEQ element drag n drop to SEQID variable . but it was not possible for mapping.

i can assign source element to SEQID variable but i can not assign SEQID to target field XSEQ.

please help me  my system PI 7.31 single java.

Hi David,

You need to double click XSEQ field and drag and drop the SEQID variable into mapping editor then map the variable to the target field.


Blog also mentioned the same.


Double-click on "recCount" and drag-n-drop (do not double-click) the variable "varNoOfRec" to the mapping area and assign the following mapping.

Hello David,

You can't drag the variable.

You should double click it,then it will appear in the mapping editor area and map the same to the required target.

And if your requirement is to increment the field value you can try using Counter function as well.
