Character Encoding in Integration Engine

Hi Guys,

I am sending an IDOC from ECC to PI in my QA system.

This IDoc contains Russian Characters.

When the IDoc arrives in integration engine, the Russian characters are replaced into # symbols.

The xml header already uses UTF-8.

Received messaged in PI Integration Engine.

In my Production system, there is no issue with this.

Could you please help me with this? Where can I changed the encoding?

PI System 7.31

Flow: Dual Stack (ECC > Integration Engine > Adapter Engine)

Hi Neil,

The RFC destination used in ECC to send the IDOC to PI should have Unicode enabled check this.

Hello Neil,

As Kiran suggested try enabling the option in SM59.

And also check in the production if any beans or mapping is used to handle the Unicode conversion.

Hi Kiran, Raghu,

Thanks, I think it's the Unicode option that is needed to be enabled. Also, which system should it be implemented, should it be in ECC only?

In ECC and PI, the RFC Destinations are set as Non-Unicode.

Hello Neil,

Yes, you need to change it to Unicode here.

Hello Neil.

Change the Unicode here only as Nitin suggested.

Like UTF+ the required coding required.
